How to wash your hair with soap:

1. Wet your hair thoroughly

Natural soap needs more moisture than shampoo or shampoo bars. Therefore, your hair must be completely wet – from scalp to ends. The bar of soap itself should also be thoroughly moistened before use.

2. Rub the soap directly onto your scalp and hair

Rub the soap bar vigorously directly onto your scalp to build lather. If you have thick hair, lift the top layer of hair as well. Also rub into hidden areas, such as the neck or behind the ears.

Work the soap diligently into your temples, the back of your head, and the lengths of your hair. Keep adding a little water until a thick lather slowly forms.

3. Intensive massage to create foam

Massage your head thoroughly with both hands – for at least 30 seconds. The goal is a creamy, rich lather, similar to that of a cappuccino.

Why so much effort? Natural soaps consist only of saponified vegetable oils. There are no synthetic foaming agents here! So you have to do that. Without thorough lathering, the soap will stick to your hair and won't clean.

4. No foam? A second wash cycle helps

If only a little lather is produced, it's due to residues from previous synthetic care products that are still sitting on your hair and scalp. You need to get rid of these residues now.

If the lather immediately disappears, rinse thoroughly and start a second or even third wash cycle until more lather forms.

5. Rinse thoroughly – really thoroughly

Take at least a minute and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Make sure to rinse thoroughly under the top layer of hair, too. Many hair soap problems are simply due to incomplete rinsing.

6. Apple cider vinegar rinse – especially during the transition

For beginners and when using hard tap water, we recommend a natural rinse:

  • 1 liter of water (lukewarm or cold)
  • Add 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar*
  • Pour over hair after washing

Replaces conditioner, soothes the scalp, adds shine, and helps rinse out—especially useful with hard tap water or product buildup. For short hair, halve the amount.

Important: During the adjustment phase, do not leave the acidic rinse in your hair; rinse it out with clear water.

*we recommend organic apple cider vinegar; alternatively, organic lemon juice

The most important steps summarized in the video:

After the switch: Toner and oil for extra care

Oil mask:
Apply 3-4 tablespoons of the Complete Care Balms to wet hair. Massage the oil in. Wrap in a towel and leave on for 1-2 hours, or even overnight. Then rinse thoroughly with soap 2-3 times – for smooth hair and a healthy scalp.

Tip care:
If you only want to treat the ends, moisturize them with our toner 001 and add a few drops of the ccomplete care balms. Massage in, do not rinse out.

... and the rinse?
If you live in a region with soft tap water, you can try using a little of our toner 001 instead of the vinegar rinse to give your hair shine. With hard water, there's no getting around the apple cider vinegar rinse.
